The clients for this project were looking for traditional style home, one that looked like it was 100-200 years old but constructed new to modern standards. The Site enjoyed scenic views over nearby mountains and rolling countryside.
The project was constructed via contractor for the structure and direct labour for the remaining works to completion

The client brief asked for a home that was comfortable for their family with young children and pets in the form of two large dogs. The open playing ground floor design to next to the garden and every opportunity provide example space for kitchen dining living area ,separate office and utility. first floor accommodates master bedroom in the new extension along with the larger fourth bedroom to complement the two existing bedrooms.  While the house doesn’t appear spacious from the outside clever layout and use of connectivity to the outside results in a large comfortable family home

Lake side

Lake side dwelling originally constructed in the 1990's. The clients required a redesign to breathe new life into the house. The design seeks to create a fresh and open dialogue with the lakeside setting. This new relationship is evident throughout and is particularly well demonstrated in the two storey high glass landing which links the first and ground floors replacing a previous bedroom and external timber constructed balcony area.

Gortmore

A plastered farmhouse, as you can see we stripped off the plaster to reveal a good quality sandstone. the joints were raked out and re-pointed with a lime putty. Retaining breath-ability is critical when restoring old masonry buildings.

This is a Property overlooking the west coast of Ireland. The client wanted to revamp his property constructed some 25 years previous by adding a sun room and introducing more light while leaving the main part of the house unchanged for nostalgic reasons.

A dormer style townhouse set on a comfortable plot close to the town centre with good orientation. This property uses many natural and local materials and is a good example of what can be achieved combining good quality materials with skilled local tradesmen.

Originally a two storey red brick and plaster clad dwelling with a tuder style treatment to the second storey. This building is given a face-lift providing a period style elevation and has also been extended and significantly redesigned internally.

A newly constructed rural dwelling on a locally elevated site designed to appear like an existing traditional dwelling which has recently been extended and renovated. 
This design approach allows the building to appear to have a history on the site encouraging the onlooker to imagine that history.
the "original building" is finished in a traditional style while the "extensions" are completed in a more transitional manner.

Demolition of an existing poorly performing single storey annex and replacement with a modern glazed extension to take advantage of stunning panoramic views while providing some screening from weather conditions

Deerpark

This is a 4 bedroom single storey family home with two living rooms of 248 sq. m and located in a scenic area at the foot of the silver mine mountains. The client needed a relatively compact a carefully designed home to suit their budget while taking full advantage of the beautiful setting.
The completed home connects exceptionally well with its surroundings with every room offering stunning landscape scenes and high levels of natural light.

Pallasmore

A rural dwelling on an elevated exposed hillside overlooking the picturesque Lough Derg. The site required a fine balance between access to the views, providing adequate shelter while also creating a form which would sit naturally into the hillside and be in keeping with other vernacular architecture in the area.
The arrangement and form of the dwelling is influenced by farmhouses and their outbuildings as found on the Irish landscape.

Cooneen, Farmhouse Renovation and Redesign

An Existing farmhouse which the new owner wanted to retain, extend and renovate to provide a family home on the farm.
The result is a partner extension in complimentary roughcast dash and presented set back from the original building. A good quality slate stone is uncovered behind the plastered farmhouse and re-pointed with lime putty. this stone is also exposed internally where advantage to the finish. 

Round house

This house is set on a relatively wet and low-lying site surrounded by a small wooded area with water and both sides hence the "Crannog" style design. the internal layout is very supportive of family life and inclusiveness. Well sheltered by the surrounding landscape and deep overhangs in what is predominately a wet climate .

Barrack Building

This was an old disused terraced stone building riginally used as a barracks for local constabulary. The property has been restored in keeping with many of construction methods and designs of its period circa 1800.

This property retained many original features from its construction circa 1950. there were several extensions added to it over the years in an adhoc manner, resulting in a sprawling and poorly realised  town property which was dark, damp and drafty. 
This design removed the lifetime of poorly designed and constructed additions returning to the original footprint and added a contemporary extension on the north-east side with high level fanlights and providing a private sun trap to the south.
